Day 1: Kathmandu: Arrive in
Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be met by our
Peirce & Leslie colleague who will escort you to your hotel and help you to check-in. The remainder of the day will be at leisure.
Day 02: Kathmandu: After breakfast, you will visit
Kathmandu’s Durbar Square (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Once the residence of Nepal’s royal family, all coronation ceremonies were held here.
On your return, you will visit
Thamel, a labyrinth of streets and alleys lined with souvenir shops, bars, hotels and restaurants that has been the hub for backpackers since the country opened itself to outsiders in the late 1950s.
From here, you will proceed to the famous
Buddhist Stupa of Boudhanath (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). The 36-meter-high stupa is the largest in the Kathmandu Valley and one of the largest in South Asia.
If time permits, you will participate in a prayer ceremony with the resident monks (subject to their availability)
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
After lunch, you will visit
Pashupatinath Temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the four most important religious sites in Asia for devotees of Shiva (the Destroyer).
You will return to your hotel and the remainder of the day will be at leisure.
Day 3: Kathmandu: After a quick cup of tea/coffee, early this morning, you will be escorted to the airport by our
Peirce & Leslie colleague to board your
Mountain flight for an
‘Everest Experience’. This is a 50-minute flight with panoramic views of the mountains.
After your flight, our colleague will escort you to your hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, you will visit
Swayambhunath that is also known as the “Monkey Temple” and is a good place to catch panoramic views of the city.
You will then drive to
Patan also known as ‘Lalitpur’ or ‘beautiful town’ (approximately 30 minutes, excluding stops). Here, you will visit the
Patan Durbar Square (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) that is full of ancient palaces, temples, and shrines, noted for their exquisite carvings. Thereafter, you will visit the
Museum inside the Durbar Square that specializes in bronze statues and religious objects.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. You will then return to your hotel and the remainder of the day will be at leisure.
Day 4: Kathmandu – Pokhara: After an early breakfast, you will be met by our
Peirce & Leslie colleague in the lobby of your hotel and escorted to the airport to check-in for your flight to
Pokhara.
In the arrival hall, you will be met by our
Peirce & Leslie colleague, who will escort you to your waiting vehicle. From here, you will be driven directly to the
International Mountain Museum, a Mecca for mountain lovers and mountaineers all around the world.
Thereafter, you will check-in to your hotel and the rest of the day will be at leisure.
Day 5: Pokhara: This morning, you will drive to the dam at the end of
Fewa Tal. You will walk up the forested hill called Raniban to the
Shanti Stupa or Peace Pagoda, from where there are good views of Fewa Tal, the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himal massifs
(Walk Duration: approximately 30 minutes, excluding stops).
You will then drive back to the lakeside and take a cruise in one of the brightly painted doongas (boats). Also on the tour is a visit to
Barahi Temple, situated on a small island in the middle of Fewa Lake.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. You will then return to your hotel and the remainder of the day will be at leisure.
Day 6: Pokhara – Kathmandu – Bharatpur – Chitwan: After a quick cup of tea/coffee, you will be met by our
Peirce & Leslie colleague in the lobby of your hotel and escorted to the airport to check-in for your flight to
Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will connect to your onward flight to
Bharatpur.
On arrival, you will be met by our colleague in the arrival hall and escorted to
Chitwan National Park (approximately 1 hour, excluding stops), where he will help you check-in to your hotel.
Late in the afternoon, you will have the option of choosing from a menu of special
“jungle activities” for in-house guests.
The remainder of the day will be at leisure.
Day 7: Chitwan National Park: This morning, you will take a
river safari inside The
Chitwan National Park. You will also visit the
Crocodile Breeding Centre.
You will return to your hotel for breakfast and the rest of the morning will be at leisure.
Late in the afternoon, you will be taken on a
“Game Drive” inside
Chitwan National Park, along with a naturalist.
You will end your day with a special jungle experience. You will unwind next to a huge campfire and listen to the sounds of the intricate
Tharu stick dance and
local folk songs.
Day 8: Chitwan – Kathmandu – Bhaktapur – Dhulikhel: This morning, you will be taken on a final
“Game Drive” inside
Chitwan National Park, along with a naturalist.
After breakfast, you will be met by our
Peirce & Leslie colleague in the lobby of your hotel and escorted to the airport to check-in for your flight to
Kathmandu.
In the arrival hall in Kathmandu, you will be met by our
Peirce & Leslie colleague, who will escort you to your waiting vehicle and together, you will drive to
Bhaktapur. On the way you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, you will visit the charming town of
Bhaktapur (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). The city is celebrated for its glorious architecture, sky-high temples built in pagoda style, fine clay pottery and massive royal courtyards.
After your visit, you will drive to
Dhulikhel. On arrival, you will check-in to your hotel.
The remainder of the day will be at leisure to enjoy your resort’s facilities or to indulge in a spa treatment.
Day 9: Dhulikhel: After breakfast, you will take a
Dhulikhel to Namobuddha trek. The trek offers the opportunity of visiting a spectacular Buddhist monastery with great views and mountainous scenery. The trek also gives you the chance to visit the beautiful village of Panauti with its small settlements, rice paddy fields, forests and clear river streams.
If you have the time, you will
participate in a prayer ceremony with the resident monks (subject to their availability). You will then drive back to your resort in Dhulikhel.
You can choose to spend the remainder of the day at leisure or indulge in the activities offered by the resort for in-house guests.
Day 10: Dhulikhel – Kathmandu: After breakfast, you will be met by our
Peirce & Leslie colleague and together, you will drive to
Kathmandu airport to check-in for your homeward bound flight.
